Channel One Regional Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, operates to secure donated, purchased, and government commodity food for distribution to member non-profit agencies serving food insecure individuals and families across 14 counties in SE Minnesota and La Crosse County, Wisconsin.
We are seeking a qualified Warehouse and Purchasing Manager to oversee warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and transportation functions in support of our mission “to strengthen food access and build healthy communities.
” *Position Summary:* The Warehouse and Purchasing Manager is responsible for the management and operations of the warehouse, including product receipt and storage, procurement, inventory control, transportation, distribution, facility maintenance and safety and oversees the repack room operation.
The Warehouse and Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with Channel One processes and regulatory bodies, including Feeding America, AIB, City, State, and Federal entities, and for the sanitation and maintenance of the warehouse and the equipment assigned to it.
The Warehouse Manager directly supervises the warehouse associates, repack projects coordinator, and truck drivers.
*Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* * Ensuring timely and accurate receipting and distribution of all incoming product into the Food Bank, and accurate recordkeeping and tracking in accordance with Channel One Food Bank procedures.
* Providing leadership, training, and evaluation for warehouse associates, repack projects coordinator, and CDL truck drivers, assuring that work is completed accurately and safely.
Updating and approving work schedules, PTO and bi-weekly timecards and conducting annual performance evaluations.
* Overseeing and managing logistics for transporting products to customers, communicating with drivers to ensure efficient delivery of product.
Training and directing truck drivers in the completion of their responsibilities.
* Ensuring accurate inventory of donated, purchased, and government product through a structured receipting and distribution process ranging from physical receipt/distribution to data entry and periodic physical counts.
Supporting cycle counting process.
* Preparing and submitting accurate and timely monthly reports to TEFAP, CSFP, and Feeding America.
* Managing the purchased food program, adhering to all company processes, budgets, policies, and timelines.
* Maintaining an accurate knowledge of compliance issues as they pertain to City, State, and Federal regulatory bodies, including MN Dept.
of Human Services, Feeding America, USDA, Health Dept.
, etc.
* Designating all rework or repack product to best possible storage area.
Monitoring and releasing product to repack room staff as schedule dictates.
* Working with Agency Services Manager, Kitchen Coalition Coordinator and Food Shelf Manager to ensure completion and accuracy of internal order fulfillment and addressing solutions pertaining to product distribution and availability.
* Inspecting product, warehouse, freezer, and cooler as required by AIB and Feeding America’s maintenance and housekeeping practices, and scheduling all required maintenance as needed.
* Managing the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance and cleaning schedules for the Channel One facility.
* Coordinating logistical activities such as delivery days/times, route schedules, and mobile distributions between the Operations and Programs teams.
* Providing daily maintenance scheduling for forklifts and pallet jacks.
*Qualifications* * All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
* Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies, including inventory control, shipping, and receiving.
* Three or more years of experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
* Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
* Ability to perform physical labor as needed, including frequently lifting 50 lbs.

* Previous experience in picking, receiving, and/or shipping.
* Ability to operate and obtain certification for forklift, pallet jacks, and other power warehouse equipment.
* Ability to complete work in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
* Good communication skills both oral and written.
* Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to both speak and write in English * Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
* Computer proficiency, including MS Office and Outlook.
