Responsibilities This is a full time remote position within the United States.
The Extramural/Custom Lab Application Services Unit within the Mayo Collaborative Services Section is seeking a highly motivated, experienced software engineer to join the team.
In this role you will design, implement, and optimize Mayo Collaborative Services Infrastructure as Code processes to establish core technical capabilities supporting our diverse customer base and provide leadership in solving complex technical challenges.
We have a highly collaborative environment and are looking for a motivated professional who is passionate about delivering quality solutions for Mayo Collaborative Services initiatives.
Individuals with a strong affinity towards Infrastructure as Code with demonstrated skill implementing scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform are strongly desired.
The successful candidate must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong security acumen and have strong organizational, system support experience and excellent communication skills.
Highly desired Skills or Experience: Cloud experience on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Proficiency with two or more of the following languages; Python, Java, JavaScript, Terraform, or Go Development and support of containerized solutions Microservices and API development Hands-on experience with cloud storage platforms Analytic tools and ETL/ELT/Data-Pipeline frameworks Agile Scrum CI/CD Git and Azure DevOps Knowledge in test frameworks, code coverage, static code analysis tools General knowledge of computer networks Adept at working collaboratively within a team environment to accomplish goals Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Preferred Skills or Experience: Terraform Data Engineering concepts: ETL/ELT/Pipelines TensorFlow Extended or Kubeflow Google Cloud Platform BigQuery, Firestore, CloudSQL Cloud Dataflow FHIR, HL7 standards HITRUST, CAP/CLIA Mayo Clinic will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position including F1 OPT STEM.
A Codility Test may be used as part of the candidate selection process.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field; Or an Associates’ degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with an additional 2 years of experience as described below.
· Have working knowledge and experience of Software Engineering with a minimum of internships and a minimum of 1 yr.
of experience, or 2yrs of experience coding applications or services in a high-level language (C, C++, Golang, Java, C# etc.

· Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
· Possesses strong technical aptitude for designing and implementing software solutions.
· Experience with modern application development frameworks.

· Experience with Agile software development techniques.

· Experience in databases, analytics, big data systems or business intelligence products.
