POSITION SUMMARY:
Develop hardware and software for assigned products and ensure they meet specifications by verification.
Ensure customer requirements are achieved in the design and that product can be manufactured in a cost effective and timely manner.
Perform troubleshooting tasks on existing products.
Assist with proposal preparation and estimating as needed.
Document processes and design parameters as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Develop hardware and/or software solutions that expand Domaille Product offerings and/or augment the capabilities of existing products to preserve our status as a leading solutions provider.
Incorporate new technology into Domaille products where it provides customer benefit and competitive advantage.
Application/ Software Development
Automation of processes
Analyze and Test new applications for compatibility and capability to requirements
Testing and functional review
Debug applications and develop software design documentation and test plans
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including CAD drawings, assembly and test procedures, etc.
May designate, modify and/or make recommendations for procurement of equipment necessary to produce parts and/or assemblies – should be captured in the proposal effort.
Develop home screens and mashups as the user community requests
Troubleshooting and Maintenance of Existing Products
Responsible for assessment of root cause of failures, documenting repair requirements, and recommending preventative or corrective actions on similar products:
Polishing Machine controls and electrical
Laser Cleaver controls and electrical
Cure Oven controls and electrical
Microscope controls and electrical
Responsible for continuous cost improvement ideas and implementation.
Analyze manufacturing and assembly processes to provide continuous cost reductions.
Make recommendations and direct changes to achieve improvement.
Coordinate the activities on assigned projects.
Determine the nature of “out of spec” problems in the manufacturing process and work
with others to resolve:
Communicate effectively on the status of projects to the Product Development Manager and work cooperatively with other company personnel to achieve the completion of the
project on time and within cost constraints.
Assist Project Managers by providing information on the technical aspects of projects to assure appropriate proposals on projects and status to customers
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience developing Windows or Linux based user interface applications to control local
Hardware (VB, Visual C++, python, other)
Experience working with embedded systems (C, C++)
Experience developing SCADA and PLC programs
Experience with troubleshooting programmable controllers and electro-mechanical systems
Previous experience in the manufacturing/machining industry, job shop machining preferred
Experience with circuit card debugging and firmware
Experience optimizing processes to achieve ongoing cost reductions
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field with a minimum of two years of relevant experience, or a two-year post high school
Diploma/certificate and a minimum of six years relevant experience
Experience with CAD systems used to generate electrical or mechanical drawings
Proficient PC Skills in a Windows environment
Ability to travel, including air, occasionally overnight
Eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship
