Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a R&D Product Development Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis.
Summary: This role will be a key contributor to minerals processing equipment development.
The candidate should have a strong minerals processing foundation with mechanical aptitude, metallurgical/process/chemical/mechanical background with knowledge of theoretical and experimental processes to aid product developments and improvements.
Job Responsibilities This is for a R&D Engineer to lead teams and projects from idea to commercialization, with specific experience in minerals processing.
The R&D Engineer contributes to all phases of R&D project life-cycle as a technical resource or as a technical lead.
The role contributes to the development of solutions to complex technical challenges and leads research and development evaluations, designing and providing recommendations for stakeholders.
Projects may include research and technology development for new concepts, or improvements and optimization of existing/current products in the minerals processing industry.
Champions FLSmidth safety culture.
Designs solutions with multiple technical disciplines including mechanical engineering, fluid dynamics, process engineering, electrical and automation engineering, and others.
Directs research tasks, concept development, design and design verification, and validation across the whole project life cycle, ensuring task completion and budget management.
Leads or completes technical reports, design calculations, product modeling, manufacturing drawings, product manuals, parts lists, and other necessary technical documentation for the project, by engaging with other experts and project resources and by utilizing state-of-the-art engineering and analysis tools, with high-quality and in a timely manner.
Leads (up to 3 - 4) projects as well as participate as team members across various areas.
Continuously seeks new innovations and ideas for the products and processes within the FLSmidth portfolio, by researching and developing solutions and technologies that may lead to full commercialization.
What you bring Expertise in innovation, invention, and engineering principles to improve existing products, or development and innovate new products or services Expertise in minerals processing equipment, technology, and operations.
Strong organizational skills to manage projects and lead efforts to commercialization.
Strong leadership and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrates working experience in minerals processing filtration or other dewatering equipment.
Degree in mechanical, chemical, metallurgical or relevant.
