At Channel One Regional Food Bank, our mission is to strengthen food access and build healthy communities.
As a backup CDL truck driver, you will fill in on scheduled routes delivering food to other nonprofit agencies across our 14 county area.
Truck drivers are responsible for loading their trucks, and unloading the product at each site, sometimes picking up and backhauling other product as needed.
When not needed for truck driving, you will assist in the warehouse, pulling product orders from dry, cooler, and frozen storage areas, assembling, staging, and loading orders for food bank agencies, unloading and storing incoming product.
You may occasionally be required to deliver food to mobile pantry sites on a Saturday or as needed.
Your warehouse duties will also include some basic maintenance of the warehouse and facility as needed or instructed.
*Primary Responsibilities include:*
* Deliver orders to member agencies throughout service area.
* Pick up donations of food products and transport to Channel One and other food banks as instructed.
* Pick up and transport purchase product to Channel One, obtaining invoices and verification of counts before departing donor’s dock.
* Unload truck, weigh, and move product to refrigerated, frozen, or dry storage areas, utilizing forklifts and electric and/or hand pallet jacks
* Properly fill food orders and load truck for delivery to member agencies throughout 14 county region
* Pull and assemble food orders from food bank inventory, utilizing forklifts and electric and/or hand pallet jacks.
* Conduct staging, final product check, and loading of any shipments as needed.
* Load orders for delivery and assist agencies when they are picking up orders.
* Unload trucks of incoming product and move product to appropriate dry, cooler, and freezer storage areas.
*Qualifications:*
* Valid Class B CDL
* Possess an unexpired Medical Examiner’s Certification Card or pass a pre-employment DOT physical exam
* Forklift experience on either sit-down or stand-up model required.
Experience on both preferred.
* Minimum one year of experience working in a warehouse environment required.
* Minimum of one year verifiable commercial truck driver experience and good driving record
* Able to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
* Able to read, write and understand instructions in the English language
* Possess basic math skills
* Dependable and reliable; strong customer service skills.
* Must be able to handle physical workload, including bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects weighing at least 50 pounds repeatedly.
* Inventory experience and computer skills helpful.
