Responsibilities This position is telework and may require intermittent time at one of our Mayo Clinic sites in AZ, FL, MN or WI.
Responsibilities: Mayo Clinic has launched a bold, new strategic plan to expand its reach and help more patients by expanding and renovating its physical facilities both domestically and internationally and creatively leveraging innovative business partnerships, international relationships, virtual care, and digital platforms.
The attorney filling this position will play a critical role in helping Mayo Clinic succeed in both the physical and digital endeavors.
This position will be responsible for leading real estate transactions, campus development and health care business transactions while providing related legal advice and counsel for a world-class, non-profit, academic medical center and affiliated health care system.
We are seeking an experienced, solution-oriented attorney who is comfortable leading legal work streams on highly complex transactions, collaborating with Mayo Clinic business partners and leaders to address challenging transactional issues, and taking ownership of a broad range of matters from inception to conclusion.
The position will manage complex campus development projects including real property transactions, new construction, joint ventures with third party developers, and campus planning in support of Mayo Clinic’s strategic initiatives.
Experience in general health care transactions and international business transactions is preferred.
This position requires a committed but humble leader who will coordinate across the Legal Department to deliver exceptional legal services and clear and concise counsel on complex questions throughout the life of a transaction.
This position will retain and manage outside counsel and lead and participate in teams of attorneys and paraprofessionals.
Qualifications Qualifications: Requires completion of law school and, preferably, five or more years of business and real property transactions experience.
A strong academic background, as well as excellent communication and writing skills, are required.
Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple client relationships and understand and help meet their clients’ needs and business goals.
Candidates should have sound legal project management skills, the ability to effectively lead teams, serve as a positive change agent, and delegate work in a fast-paced, team-based environment within a dynamic organization.
