Responsibilities
The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for contract development, review, analysis and negotiation for complex contract arrangements across all of Mayo.
Ensures contract compliance with current law/regulations and Mayo's policies, procedures and practices.
Manages contract negotiations between Mayo and external professionals, which includes resolving conflicting interests and objectives.
Assists in the development of negotiation strategies, identifies areas of contract risk, offers alternatives for management of such risk, and provides consultation and guidance to administrators and other parties internally throughout the entire Mayo system and externally with respect to contract matters.
Works independently in management of a large number of simultaneous contract negotiations and performs other miscellaneous responsibilities and special projects as requested.
Additional duties of the Senior Contract Manager may vary based on department needs and may include but are not limited to business/corporate/transactional work, health law, employment, litigation, process improvement initiatives, and website design, maintenance and management.
This position will be responsible for managing and negotiating health care business transactions.
We are seeking an experienced, solution-oriented individual who is comfortable leading legal work streams on highly complex transactions and addressing challenging transactional issues in collaboration with Mayo Clinic legal teams and business partners on a broad range of matters from inception to conclusion.

This position is a combination of remote and onsite supportwork.
Individual must live within driving distance to one of the Mayo Clinic sites.

Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in business or law with a minimum of five years of related experience in contract management/negotiations.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience required.
Preferred qualifications:
Minimum of five years work with increasing responsibilities/experience dealing with contract management/negotiations.
Working knowledge of business and contract law relating to healthcare/contract issues.
Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills, exceptional communication abilities, self-directed, ability to work independently with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
Must be able to compose business contract terms and language, including redlining agreements for counter negotiation and inclusion in contracts.
Strong analytical skills needed for analysis of complex contracting arrangements, mediating and resolving issues relating to contract negotiation.
Ingenuity, judgment and creativity are needed to perform this job combined with good planning and organizational skills.
