The Third Judicial District is accepting applications for a service-oriented Court Operations Associate to join the Dodge County Court Administration team.
This is a fast-paced, detail-orientated position that provides excellent service to members of the public, judges, and justice partners and performs advanced court clerical, administrative, and technical work.
This requires the application of specialized knowledge of procedures, records, and regulations in Dodge County District Court Administration.
Work involves responsibility for court case processing and is performed independently in accordance with established laws, standard practices, regulations, policies and procedures, and requires independent judgment in interpreting these as it relates to day-to-day activities.
The work location for this position is the Dodge County Courthouse, 22 East 6th Street, Mantorville, MN 55955.
Example of Duties The following are examples of job duties expected of this position: Performs civil, family, probate, and criminal courtroom clerking; prepares case files for court; checks people in, hosts Zoom for remote calendars as needed, and swears in witnesses.
Updates court files and completes other case processing as needed.
Enters required court record information, updates case information, and generates legal documents as decisions are made by the court during proceedings.
Independently performs clerical court work relating to criminal, traffic, civil, family, and probate cases.

Schedules court hearings and sends notices to parties/attorneys.
Reviews legal documents for completeness, adequacy, accuracy, and compliance with rules and statues; determines processing required and takes necessary action in accordance with applicable court rules and business practices or refers highly complex or unusual matters to a Lead Worker or Court Administrator.
Communicates in a clear, concise, and kind manner with court stakeholders by responding to requests for information, answering questions on court policies and procedures, and assisting with the processing of applications and documents.
Performs public service work quickly and courteously, in accordance with data privacy regulations and the most current rules/policies; access information on appropriate computer system(s) to respond to questions/inquiries regarding court procedures and case status via email, at the public counter, and on the phone.
May perform financial activities including calculating costs and amounts due; receipting fines, fees, and bail via counter and mail payments; balancing tills and preparing and making bank deposits.
Administrative duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or Equivalent One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to service, administrative work, office, and clerical work.
Experience using electronic applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to learn job related software.
Experience providing exceptional service while working under pressure in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Ability to multitask and prioritize duties while remaining flexible and adaptable to change.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, including the handling of sensitive and confidential matters.
Ability to read, comprehend and explain rules, statutes, legal documents, policies and procedures of varying complexity.
Ability to establish and maintain respectful, and effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work in an inclusive, multicultural environment and professionally exhibit cultural sensitivity.
Ability to begin new tasks with little supervision while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in work product and demonstrating attention to detail.
Ability to make independent judgments and decisions.
Excellent public service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to de-escalate difficult interactions.
Reliable with the ability to meet commitments of work duties.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certificate or degree in a related field.
Considerable knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records management.
Experience working with the Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS).
