TITLE: Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Clinician PROGRAM: Children’s Community Based Services JOB SUMMARY: Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center has an opportunity for a full-time children’s mental health clinician, primarily working with the 0-5 population.
We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide mental health services to early childhood clients and their families in Winona, Houston, Fillmore, and Wabasha Counties.
Prior training in DC:0-5 and experience providing intervention to young children is preferred, but training is available to the right candidate.
Clinical supervision and future opportunities to train in evidence-based interventions available.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Complete diagnostic assessments using the DC:0-5 Develop a written plan of intervention Provide planned interventions and psychotherapy based on the client’s diagnosis.
Services may be provided in the clinic, client’s home, school, and/or community.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with other professionals and community providers.
Coordinate and collaborate as needed with multidisciplinary providers to ensure quality and effective client care Maintain accurate and current documentation of all client treatment activities in the agency’s electronic medical record system Assume responsibility for meeting productivity standards established by the Program Director.
Maintain a thorough and accurate schedule in the ECR, including all productive and non-productive time and activities Attend conferences, in-services, and training necessary to meet licensure and program requirements.
Attend all required in-services, trainings, or meetings as directed by program coordinator Possess a vehicle, valid driver license, and valid auto insurance.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Education: Completed Master’s Degree in a license eligible field Experience: Required: Independently licensed Desirable: completed training in the DC:0-5 Desirable: Experience in evidence based training (PCIT, CPP, TF-CBT, or ABC) Worker Traits: Ability to problem solve and critically think to make appropriate decisions efficiently.
Possess a high level of human relation skills and an aptitude for effective decision-making.
Effective organization and time management capabilities Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Must work well on a team of multidisciplinary providers and coordinate as necessary to support the treatment of clients Must have access to and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Must have the ability to use a computer.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must possess a vehicle, valid driver’s license, and a willingness to travel as needed to client or organization locations throughout SE MN.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION: Must be able to walk, sit, stand, crouch, twist, bend, reach overhead, maneuver stairs and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities.
Must be able to move around the office on a daily basis.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must communicate with others and exchange information.
This is primarily a sedentary position (standing and/or sitting).
Employee regularly operates a computer and other office equipment on a daily basis.
Occasional bending and lifting of office materials up to 30 lbs.

08 hours per pay check (pro-rated for 20–39 hour employees).
